The beach

The sandy path from Cabana Mio takes you straight to the beach. Mornings are for building castles and paddling; afternoons for a swim when the lifeguards are on duty.

Rock pools and tidal pools

At low tide the rocks become a treasure hunt: crabs, anemones and little fish. Bring a bucket and a net, and check the tide times before you go.

Nature walks

Amanzimtoti has green, shady nature reserves along its rivers: easy walks for small legs, with birds, butterflies and the odd monkey.

Rainy days

Shopping centres, ice cream parlours and indoor play are all close by, and Durban is a short drive away.
